MA80 Core Curriculum 7-DVD Set

Here you go – The current MA80 System Arnis/Eskrima curriculum. 132 video clips spanning seven DVDS.

These videos were originally for my in-house students so a number of them are rough, instead of polished, but they contain all the data of all four modules. This is the first time I have ever made this curriculum available to the public!

   Module One contains the basics of the system. The cane action follows what I call the Starburst Pattern, a symmetrical striking pattern that covers all angles of attack. All of the blocks, counters and footwork are based around this pattern. The end game is a fluid give and take between the partners.
   Module Two is centered around the Bait & Switch Pattern. This is the introduction of broken flow and the coordinated offensive use of the check hand.
   Module Three is all empty hands. This is the most voluminous module in terms of number of drills. The end game of this module is to always have an option in an empty hand encounter.
   Module Four embodies the statement by Prof. Remy, “No matter where you are, you are there already.” This module is centered around the Asymmetrical Flow Pattern and single motion disarming techniques. Once you have completed this module, no matter where you are in your movement, you always have an option.

The end game for the first four modules is Modern Arnis that is combat oriented. All of the vast number of joint locks, throws, back and forth drills (both cane and empty hand), Tapi-Tapi drills and so forth, come after the above. Mobile, fluid application is the thrust of the first four modules. The first four modules = 1st grade Black Belt in the MA80 System Arnis/Eskrima. This set can be used as a distance learning program which will make you eligible for grading.
