Legacy

As I look over the last 6 decades of martial activity, I ask myself the question, “What is my legacy?” a legacy is according to Oxford Languages, “the long-lasting impact of particular events, actions, etc. that took place in the past, or of a person’s life.” One’s legacy can be looked at as a lasting impact and the way one will be remembered for generations to come.

So, what is my legacy? Whether by print or digital media, my legacy comes in the form of what I write and video. This is the way that I pay it forward.

At 72 years of age, when I look at the legacy of my writings, I also look at them in order of importance. To me, the most important ones are those that easily explain the various aspects of martial arts and the ones that show where my thinking was at, at the time of my writing them. They depict my personal journey. This is my payback to the martial arts community that has been so good to me.
